Zoey swore she was paying attention when she put her shoes in this morning. She thought it was the broken sidewalk in her historic Brooklyn neighborhood that was making her walk kinda funny. But sure enough, when she glanced down at her feet during the first meeting of the day, she had two different shoes on with about 1/2” difference in the heel.
It only added to the harried feeling of this week. The humidity that rolled in recently had given her hair an unmanageable frizz that couldn’t be tamed with her go-to products.
She’s all out of her breakfast sourdough she got at the farmer’s market (one late night binge of half the loaf didn’t help), and she can’t find her library card.
But all is not lost. She is wearing her favorite sunglasses she thrifted and she’s meeting a friend for tacos after work.
