Paul’s story - It is peak of tourist season, and while he is so tired of answering dumb tourist questions, he knows this is his time to make money that will last through the winter.
He has just finished his shift working the front desk at the historic hotel in town. Yes, it is supposedly haunted. No, he hasn’t seen any ghosts himself. Yes, he was born and raised here. Yes, we do have plenty of good restaurants even though we don’t have a Texas Roadhouse.
Now is the fun time of the day. He got a pass from his manager to sit next to the front steps to the hotel with his banjo and play the traditional Bluegrass music he was brought up on. He would go to all the festivals with his parents every summer.
As people walk by and put dollar bills into his banjo case, Paul can’t but feel a dopamine high from doing what he loves to do and having others hear it. It’s a reward after the day he had today.
